What’s the vital ingredient in being successful at anything in this world? Answer, stick-to-itiveness.
No matter how immensely gifted or talented we are, those two attributes are not enough to make us successful.
Sounds clichéd? Ask any professional athlete or CEO! It’s a person’s stick-to-itiveness aka perseverance that is the crucial ingredient in making them move from just having a gift/talent/the potential, to excelling.
Stick-to-itiveness is defined as dogged perseverance. Perseverance is defined as commitment, hard work, patience and endurance. Yes, being perseverant is definitely the hardest area to traverse on the road to success, but like a postage stamp, you have to stick to whatever it is until you’ve accomplished your goal of mastering your area/field.
Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did. ~Newt Gingrich
