Poker Face and Love
A friend of mine was out on a date with a girl he met via a mutual friend. He being his usual romantic self was very concerned with details such as the ambiance of the restaurant, arranging with the waiters to set the table with flowers, pre-selecting the wine to be served, and the genre songs to be played.
As expected of any guy who goes to such length to ensure that all the elements under his control for a date are ‘spot on,’ my friend was expecting to be able to tell from his date’s face whether he impressed her or not. Man was he wrong!
His date seemed to be an expert poker player; yea you know those types who ‘wear’ their poker face to every engagement, as he couldn’t read a thing from her face. And the sad thing is, that’s how most girls are on a first date.
Girls try their best not to show if they are into a guy or not while on a date. Guess they get pleasure from leaving the guy wondering whether he did a good job or not. And that’s exactly what guys do after a date, they wonder.
I would have thought that girls would want a guy to know though, as in why would they want a guy who they have no interest in to be calling them, or a guy who they have interest in not to call them, all because they weren’t forthcoming by showing how they feel about the person.
The unanimous consensus is keeping a poker face in matters relating to love yields the unwanted reaction in most cases.
