FIFA 13 Review
FIFA has come a long way in recent years. Previously the best Football/Soccer game belonged to PES, minus the rights issues off course. FIFA now provides users with a more realistic feel. Every player is no longer gifted with a super human, Messi-like, first touch. Players like Gervinho and Torres are now more susceptible to first touch errors if they are running at the ball at full pace.
The graphics are top notch and you feel as if you are in control of every aspect of the game. The tactical defending also adds a nice touch, allowing players to time tackles to perfection or miss completely and be exposed. Defenders also read the game a lot better in the 2013 installment, they dive and lunge towards passes, to stop the build up of play.
There are two great additions to the game. 1) 360-degree control: Players are now fully mobile about a 360-degree axis. This allows you more creativity in 1v1 situation. 2) Attacking intelligence: Players now make darting, defense crushing runs. This allows you to pick a pass, if you have the vision, like one of the great creative midfielders in todays’ game.
For all FIFA’s bright spots, it is not without fault. The first touch control, though more realistic, is far from perfect and the game pace is sometimes unrealistically fast.
All in all, FIFA 13 is a must have and provides more control and freedom than FIFA 12. We give this game a 9 out of 10.
